Verizon’s HTC Droid Eris Officially Rooted

The HTC Eris on Verizon is finally rooted, and to do that you need to have Android 1.5, which means this is 1.5 to 2.1 root only. After this root your mobile will also upgrade to Android 2.1 OS and then it will not be possible to downgrade to Android 1.5 again.
In case if you are already on leaked 2.1 ROM then this current root will not work for you and its use may brick your device.
Just as a precaution measure before starting root process on Eris just take backup of your data and then proceed further.
